On Sunday afternoon as the gallery closed for another week, five female artists from west Cumbria descended on the gallery to put up an exhibition called Telling Stories.
It took us about two and a half hours to put up the exhibitions with a little help from James and Dave.
We were very pleased with the outcome. The work is of a high standard and looks great together.
We are all different in our approaches and styles and that is the beauty of the exhibition.
A well deserved curry was enjoyed as we finished in the conveniently sited Maryport Tandoori.
On the preview evening, Tuesday 14th May, the gallery was filled with artist's friends, family and gallery friends enjoying the artwork and chatting to the artists about it. Wine and nibbles provided by Brian and Dolly were also appreciated.
The exhibition is on until 16th June and well worth a visit.
Upstairs the permanent exhibition of Mitchells and Kellys is beautifully displayed.
Prices range from £15 for mounted prints to £1500 so a wide range of prices for all.
The artists will be popping into the gallery to sketch and chat to visitors during the exhibition.
