Open Studios

Florence Arts Centre is my venue for open studios. Every year in September, Eden Valley Artistic Network creatle a brochure of artists in north and west Cumbria. Over two weeks and three weekends artists open their own studios or gather in churches or community venues to show art and skills.

Two years ago Nanette Madan joined me, last year we were joined by Rachel Metcalfe and this year the three of us add Clare Parker to the group.

Come to visit us in Egremont and you get to see four artists in one place. Hop over to St Bees and you can visit artist Chris Robson in his house and garden.

We are four very different artists with a range of styles and interests. Our backgrounds are so different and yet we get on so well.

During the three weekends we are running two workshops each on a wide range of subjects using a variety of materials.

We will have originals, cards and prints at a range of prices.

It is sure to be a fun atmosphere. We are relaxed and happy to talk about our work and processes. We are supportive of each other and love to share.

Clare Parker has some interesting stories to tell about her work as a resident artist on a cruise ship. Nanette, Rachel and I have all taken part in Sky Arts, Landscape Artist of the year competition as wildcards in Blackpool, Liverpool and Llanberis.
